Hip hop is a culture. No matter where it's being played, it has relevance. It exudes swagger, as it expands and evolves. As artists, we have no choice but to do so as well. We can't expect anything to stay the same, which is why we constantly search to create something different. Hip hop is global, and everyone is touched by the magnitude of its success. It has crossed over into sports, fashion, video games, you name it. And undeniably, hip hop has influenced it one way or another.
Its music has a history, and honoring this history will essentially give the present hope for a brighter future. As we head into the future, we see a
landscape that hip hop has painted, and we are involved as we watch how it continues to change the world forever. We know it will continue to branch out into new heights, and now realize twenty years ago this would've seemed like a fantasy. We can only hope everyone will contribute to this culture no matter what their specialty is. At Abdog Records, we believe hip hop is one of the cornerstones of music, and we understand many will rely on it to lead them to their promised land. The expression of hip hop is what gravitates the people to it, and It gives us as humans a chance to voice our opinion allowing us to do it in a forum for the whole world to hear. We move forward with confidence and force, because we know the world is always waiting.

As we ventured into our attempt to redefine a new hip hop, it was inevitable that we realized it went hand and hand with R&B. Rhythm and Blues can be so much more than a love and hate song of a relationship (we have songs like that too), but with what's going on around us, we thirst for emotion with a purpose. We want a new sound that is from the heart not limited to the auto tune. Don't get us wrong, we love the auto tune, but it filters out the beauty of God given originality. We cry real tears, and our voice fluctuates with pain. Originality is important when singing to a new sound, and hopefully it inspires others to create newer music in these hard times of 2009. We have the blues, and we are looking for a new rhythm, and ultimately that also goes with what sounds good.
